What is NavSkills™?
Providing high-quality training solutions is crucial for an increased safety at sea. Furuno established their training concept called NavSkills™ in 2010. Developed by experienced Furuno instructors, this concept guarantees for high-quality training solutions. Possible options are classroom trainings, available in the NavSkills™ training center network, or online training, delivered by NavSkills™ Online Platform.
Digital Certificate
Once your training course has been successfully completed, the digital certificate will automatically and immediately be send to you within one hour. This saves time, as no scanning or saving the paper documentation is necessary.
Direct access for selected online courses
After booking an online course, it will be made available to you without long waiting times or the requirement to schedule any training appointments. This is available for Furuno ECDIS FMD training, Furuno FEA training and IMO Model Course 7.11.
Furuno NX-700/900 NAVTEX - Online training
This course provides you with required information and knowledge on how to use the Furuno NX-700/900 effective. Base for this course are the requirements of the STCW CODE, Table A-II/1 and Chapter VIII, Standards regarding watchkeeping, Section A-VIII/2, Part 4-1 "Principles to be observed in keeping navigational watch", paragraph 36. This course contains informations for use of the different display models, the operation of this equipment, how to select stations/ messages and the diagnostics . The estimated time it takes for this course is one hour. You can leave and continue the course whenever you want, this offers maximum flexibility and the possibilty to complete this course at your own pace. After each lesson a small test is done, therefore there is no final test rquired.
Furuno FA-170 AIS - Online training
This course provides you with required information and knowledge on how to use the Furuno FA-170 effective. Base for this course are the requirements of the STCW CODE, Table A-II/1 and Chapter VIII, Standards regarding watchkeeping, Section A-VIII/2, Part 4-1 "Principles to be observed in keeping navigational watch", paragraph 36. This course contains informations about the use of the different display models, the operation of this equipment, navigational status, messages and possible alerts on the system. The estimated time it takes for this course is one hour. You can leave and continue the course whenever you want, this offers maximum flexibility and the possibilty to complete this course at your own pace. Furuno FM-8900S VHF Radiotelephone - Online training
This course provides you with required information and knowledge on how to use the Furuno FM-8900S effective. Base for this course are the requirements of the STCW CODE, Table A-II/1 and Chapter VIII, Standards regarding watchkeeping, Section A-VIII/2, Part 4-1 "Principles to be observed in keeping navigational watch", paragraph 36. For Masters, Chief Mates and Officers in charge of a navigational watch on board of ships, this course is a requirement. Anyone interested in how to operate bridge equipment can gain value informations from this course. It contains informations about the basic operation and DSC operation.
